Dolphins
Gibraltar is renowned for its fishing, but it’s also great for dolphin spotting with boats taking people out on ‘dolphin safaris’ to watch pods or schools of dolphins playing.
The Bay of Gibraltar is particularly popular for nursery schools of mother and baby Common Dolphins.
Lucky boat trippers who get their timing right might even see migratory whales in the distance. There are mainly three types of dolphins that visit the bay and straights of Gibraltar, the Common Dolphin, the Bottlenose Dolphin and the Stiped Dolphin.
